Mark’s session

by Scott Watt ~ October 3rd, 2008

Ok, I shot Tory about two weeks ago. I had a such a blast, I wanted to shoot a guy this time. I found Mark through another buddy of mine. He said he was interested in getting some shots of himself done. Again, I just want to try and  be different with my sessions, try to think outside the box. I want to put more of a fashion look into my images, to give them a different look rather than the typical high school senior shots you see out there. If your interested in a different take to the high school senior session, contact me. I would love to talk about some ideas with you.

Tory - class of 2009

by Scott Watt ~ September 29th, 2008

While in Ohio for a few weeks of weddings, I had the opportunity to shoot a high school senior session. This was actually my very first high school senior to photograph. I’ve always wanted to shoot these, but I did not want to do the typically looking ones. I wanted to be a little edgier. A little bit of fashion flare to them.

Tory came to me wanting something unique. She was so much fun to work with. We had a blast! Thanks to mom and my dear friend Holly for tagging along and helping us out. Leave a comment. Let me know which one is your favorite! If you or you know someone looking for something different for your high school senior session, let me know. Would love to work with you!

Back at it

Where have I been? Well I took a few weeks off for personal reflection, visited relatives out of state, and did some traveling. I’m currently in the buckeye state (ohio for those who don’t know their geography) for a few weddings and visiting with more old friends and family. More weddings will be up soon and also a very cool senior session. In the mean time, I wanted to share with you one of my favorite girl. My good friends Steve and Emily, who I had the priviledge of shooting their wedding years ago, have an adorable little girl named Faith. I’ve always thought if I was blessed enough to have a family of my own, I’d want a boy. However Faith has definitly changed my opinion of baby girls. She has me wrapped around my finger!

FYI this is sent from the iPhone so forgive me for any spelling mistakes.

Star Studded NBA wedding !

by Scott Watt ~ July 24th, 2008

On July 5th, Orlando Magic point guard, Jameer Nelson married Imani Tillery at the stunning Ritz Carlton in Orlando Florida. A few of the notable guests attending were Dwight Howard, Bo Outlaw, Magic coach Stan Van Gundy, the GM Otis Smith and the legend Patrick Ewing. Jameer and Imani’s magical (pun intended) evening could not have happened without an amazing and talented team of professionals including Heather Snively of Wedding Unique, CVP for video and Flourish for the decor.Thank you Jameer and Imani for the honor and privilege of entrusting me to document your wedding story. Your kind and caring hearts were evident throughout the evening and may God bless your lives together. Because of contractual reasons and for their privacy, I am able to post only one image of them. Its a great image which I feel really shows their excitement and joy all throughout the day.

Beautiful Ohio wedding

by Scott Watt ~ July 18th, 2008

I was back in Ohio last weekend for another beautiful wedding at the elegant,  posh Glenmoor Country Club in Canton, Ohio. Thanks to Becky (who by the way I shot her wedding a few years ago) and her staff at Glenmoor, it was an enjoyable evening for Carolyn and Matthew and all their friends and family. Thanks guys for allowing me to play a part by documenting your wedding celebration. Click here to view the slideshow.

Pick up a copy of the Perfect Wedding Guide and you’ll see some of my images throughout the magazine including an image used by Ben Lawles of Kaleidoscope Lighting. I worked with them recently and I must say, lighting can make or break a wedding. It sets the mood and atmosphere of the day and Ben and his team can create that perfect atmosphere for your event.

You can pick up your copy of the Perfect Wedding Guide at local venus and book stores or check them out online at pwg.com

I started using off camera strobes about 10 months ago and am loving it! Some of the results I get blow me away. I’m specifically using Vivitar 285HV’s   They are workhorses, the color balance is perfect (IMO) and they are extremely cheap (around $90 at BH) so if you break one by dropping it (which I’ve done) its no big deal. This leads me to the new poll. Look to the right and submit your answer to this question: Do you use off camera strobes at the reception?

If you have any specific questions about how I use them, just ask!
